Soulmates

Based upon a real incident (the theme) set in India this untold story revolves around a young girl who loves nature and her little pup with whom she shares an irresistible and beautiful bond. Will they be together till eternity forms the crux of the story.

    Chapter 1 - A Lovely Family

 It's already 9 am and Chifna is very excited today. It's February 9. Which means it's her birthday. She is wearing a cute frock which was embedded with shining crystals. At the centre was a beautiful flower in black colour stitched with the frock. Black is her favourite colour. Below the flower was number 10 hanging freely since she turns 10 today. 

"Chify dear, come downstairs honey. It's time to cut the cake", said Chifna's mom.

"Yeah mom, I am coming", said Chifna as she walked down the stairs like an angel stunning her parents. She looked very beautiful in that frock.

"Make a wish before blowing the candles", said her mom. 

 Chifna nodded and bent down to the cake's level. It was a black forest cake decorated with many black berries around it and 10 candles standing magnificently on it. Chifna wished within herself to have a sibling since she was the only child to her parents. Then she blew the candles gently. Her parents clapped their hands and sang the birthday song.

  Chapter 2 - The wish came true

  After cutting the cake, Chifna went to her room and sat on her bed. She opened the window and a cold breeze blew through it. The weather was very chill. All the birds were flying to their nest. She was watching the weather very keenly as she is very interested in watching nature. Then suddenly the dark clouds hijacked the blue sky and small water pearls began to shower the earth. First the rain was slow then it started taking pace slowly and now a thunderstorm has started. Chifna's eyes now shifted to a garbage bin which was shaking a lot. She became very curious and so she took an umbrella and went outside to that bin. She peeped inside it and that sight made her both happy and worried. There was a little black pup. It was adorable though it had dirt covered around its body. But at the same time she was worried as it was whining and struggling a lot. It seemed like it was afraid of those thunders. Chifna immediately took it to her home. She pleaded with her parents to allow her to raise the puppy. After a while they allowed her while seeing the puppy's innocent face. Chifna became very happy as she finally got her sibling.

        Chapter 3 - Cliffy

 After getting permission from her parents to raise the puppy, Chifna took the pup to the washroom to give it a bath. Then they both played on the lawn. The rain had stopped now and the lawn is full of butterflies and chirping birds. Chifna enjoyed the view. Chifna and her pup lied down on the grass. It seemed like they were lying down on a soft cushion. Suddenly Chifna's mind got a name for the pup.

"Hey buddy, I have got a name for you. Wanna hear it?" said Chifna. 

The pup barked twice. 

"Looks like you are so excited uh? Alright I will tell you. Your......name....... is.............. Cliffy...... Do you like your name Cliffy?" asked Chifna.

Cliffy barked twice.

" Ok now I get it when you bark twice it is a yes from you, right?", asked Chifna curiously.

Cliffy again barked twice.

"Come let's go tell our parents your new name bud, Mom! Dad! I have named my pup Cliffy......!", she rushed towards the hall, shouting louder.

      

 Chapter 4 - Memorable moments

  Chify and Cliffy have grown so close. They eat together. They sleep together. They are always seen together. They became fonder for each other. One day Chifna and her parents were going out to have dinner. Since pets are not allowed there, they are forced to leave the pup alone there. They returned home after 2 hrs. On hearing their sound , Cliffy rushed to the main door to receive them. As soon as they went inside, Cliffy was dragging Chifna and her parents to the back door. They were confused. But on reaching the back door they were shocked to see the broken lock. Immediately they checked if anything was missing from the house. Fortunately there wasn't. They have understood that it is Cliffy who had chased off the thieves. 

"Atta boy Cliffy. Good boy, well done bud", praised Chifna as she rubbed Cliffy's head softly.

       Chapter 5 - Chocolate

 Chifna has been eagerly waiting today. Her mom has gone shopping today and she would definitely buy something for Chifna which is always her favourite only. When Chifna's mom arrived home, Chifna went to the kitchen and fetched a glass of water for her mom.

"That's my sweet girl, and here is your surprise," mom said as she took out a 20 rupee worth dark chocolate and gave it to Chifna.

" Thank you, mom", she said in delight as she started unwrapping the chocolate. She took a bite and it felt like heaven. Cliffy was standing there and watching her with those puppy eyes.

"Come here Cliffy, have your treat" she said as she broke a piece of chocolate and threw it in the air. Immediately Cliffy jumped and caught the piece. It started to howl like a fox expressing its joy.

"Oh I see you like chocolate too uh", Chifna said in an excited tone.

        Chapter 6 - Clappy hands

"And here is your surprise Cliffy", mom said as she held out a beautiful white coloured collar with a black ribbon and a cute bell hanging at the centre. Chifna took it and she made Cliffy wear it.

" It fits you perfectly Cliffy", she replied as she clapped her hands.

Immediately on hearing the clapping sound Cliffy came towards Chify.

  "I think it senses the clap sound as your signal", said mom.

"Yeah mom" replied Chifna happily.

     Chapter 7 - Fate twisted

  Time went so quickly. 1 year has passed. And today is Chifna's birthday. They have even planned to celebrate Cliffy's birthday today as they got it the same day the year before.

"It's already 9 pm let's cut the cake daddy", squealed Chifna. 

  Suddenly the current went off. Cliffy was very much scared of dark. Unfortunately it missed the way to the hall and went outside. The streets were very dim. All the lights are gone. All of a sudden a cycle appeared from nowhere and Cliffy's collar got struck between its tyres. It dragged the innocent pup to the main road. The pup was totally confused. It hadn't come out of the house ever. So the pup became frightened.

 Then a truck came over the pup's sight. It immediately became happy and hopped in it.

Flashback.....

"See Cliffy they are shifting to a new house. That's why the truck is here.", said Chifna pointing at a truck before her neighbour's house. Cliffy thought that it would always be near their house.

At present

 This is why Cliffy went inside the truck as it thought that it would lead him to Chifna.

Some time later....

 Cliffy woke up to the sunlight. It was both surprised and shocked to see that the truck had led him to a village.

"Oh puppy you look so lonely. Don't worry you can live with me, you can meet many friends there", said a farmer as he took the pup to his home were he had been raising all kinds of cattle. Though the farmer took care of him well, he missed Chifna very much.

"I searched him everywhere dear, but....", dad said to Chifna.

She became very worried.

    Chapter 8 - Unique bond

One year later.......

  Chifna is now 12 years old. Whenever she hears any bell sound, she used to rush outside hoping it to be Cliffy. But it would not be. Sometimes it would be a cotton candy seller, sometimes milkman, sometimes mailman. But it was never Cliffy, her Cliffy. On the other hand whenever Cliffy used to hear the clapping sound it did the same. But it was never Chifna, his Chifna. They missed each other.

"Chify honey don't worry, he will be happy and content wherever he is" said mom. Chifna nodded and went near the window. The sun was shining brightly. A tear slipped from her face. Then on remembering her mom's words she wiped the other tear which was about to leave her face. 

  They may be far but not apart because their souls are always connected through their unique bond. Indeed they are soulmates.........
