The Bitter Reality of Life

There was a placement officer in some college named Mohan Kumar. He was a highly dedicated placement officer who used to travel to various industries and invited them for campus placement for providing job opportunities to the students studying in various courses at that university. During starting days of his career in that college, he invited many organizations but to his surprise, he was shocked that only 2 or 3 students took part in those placement interviews. He thought that for the first time in their life, the students are observing a scenario of placement drive in the university so they are not mentally prepared for that. He started visiting various departments of the college to motivate the students to participate in placement drives and also told them that if some students are having difficulty English speaking, he will help them with that also. But no student ever came to him. He kept inviting many organizations and students were getting rejected consistently, sometimes due to bad English speaking skills, sometimes due to bad dressing sense, and sometimes due to a bad way of talking to HR. Now the placement officer has lost all his hopes and enthusiasm. 

One day the placement officer got a call from an organization where a few students of the college got selected as sales officers. It was the owner of the organization. He said, "Dear placement officer sir, I am very upset that the students of your college that we hired, left our organization after 7 days of working. When I called them, all of them said that there is a heavy workload in our organization and they are unable to work under pressure. We tried to convince them that without hard work there is no life but I think that your students only want a comfortable life and that also without hard work and dedication. I am sorry to say this Sir but never again in my life, I will hire students from your college and I will tell other industries also, that are known to me, not to visit your college for any kind of campus hiring. I will do it, not to humiliate you, but to save other reputed organizations from your illogical students. I am sorry." 

Listening to these words the placement officer started crying. Tears rolled down his eyes and he stood still for a few seconds, like a dead man. The office boy came into his office and said, "Sir, please have some tea." The placement officer did not react. he stood silent. The office boy shook his hand and said, "Sir, are you alright?" The placement officer said, "Do you know why the unemployment rate is high in our country? Many organizations in this country are hiring employees on a daily basis but the people of our country do not want to work. The unemployment in this country is not because of lack of jobs, but because of lack of willingness to do jobs." Saying these words, the Placement officer went to some other place for official work. As he left the office boy said, "You are right Sir. There are many people who do not get what they desire in their life. And to whom life has given them more than what they deserve, they do not understand its value."
