Young adolescents more often than not tend to turn delinquent, and there are reasons aplenty for them to walk the treacherous path. Social media has grown tremendously in the last few years, exposing young minds to a variety of content, mostly without any monitoring. Kids of impressionable age tend to imbibe and emulate what they come across on the internet without any filter, often not knowing the difference between reality and the make-believe world of the Web.

It is up to parents to keep the channels of discussions open and accessible so that children do not hesitate to reach out to them when in doubt or dilemma. Also, parents should initiate conversations around sexuality with their kids at the right time to ensure that the information that children gather comes through the right avenues and kids do not grow up with a distorted idea of sex and physicality.
