My Life Partner

My Life Partner

It is believed by many that life is destiny, though I don’t agree with it. Life is molded on its own; but, what we think, how we act and react, how one behaves, during our lifetime, do matter a lot for continuity of life. I believe that manipulation does not work in life, forever. There should be a strong passion for everything you do, no matter what one actually does. Clear conscience of mind is needed every time you acted upon something.

Choosing my life partner was also no exception to the above ideals I have been following for long. The proposal of my marriage came through one of my relatives, who knew both of our families well. He had informed both of our families about details of our background, social status and all other details, as required to move ahead for a proposal of marriage. I had never proposed anybody else other than my wife, for a marriage to become my life-partner. The case is no different for my wife also. At our first meeting itself, we decided that we would be an appropriate pair for the lifetime. We talked for half an hour and exchanged our ideas and dreams.

In the next meeting of our parents, it was decided that the marriage will be fixed on a future date and at a location convenient for both families. We exchanged letters and we could understand more about one another, in detail. The date of marriage was fixed and necessary arrangements were made for the function. The marriage was never a big grand function. Only relatives and close friends were invited and attended the function.

We started our life journey together. There was no looking back. We respect each other; created space for the growth of each. An individual’s freedom was never compromised. Never had a big problem unresolved. We discuss everything under the Sun. We travel together, eat together, discuss import matters and take a uniform decision. We cannot remain silent for hours. She remains as thick as a rock with me always, so am I. We criticize vehemently on the literary topics.

She is a pillar to hold on when I fall, an oasis to me when I am tired and a life-supporting machine in times of my distress. She is always seen as a feather, in my cap. My existence is purely depended on her. I am sure, she too believes in the same philosophy.

I am proud that she is an important life choice I have ever made in my life. Let me hope that we can spend more time together on this earth.
