Virat, a twenty-four-year-old introverted man was living alone in his house. He had lost his parents a couple of years ago and ever since that he had been a lone man with the comfort of his lone residence. He killed time binge-watching movies, staring at the impenetrable four walls of his room beside living his livelihood as a writer. He despised going out and making new friends and had no interest at all when it came to socializing. His neighbors deemed him as a new generation angry man courtesy of his angry looks. He avoided making eye contact with people fearing a burst of small talk which would drain him to the core. One of his neighbors who were also a chatterbox hated him as he was the only person in the area with whom he couldn't strike up a conversation. Virat was allergic to noise but children around his house deliberately made noise to spike up his anger. He looked incongruous with the extroverted neighbors who couldn't breathe without talking. It was a herculean task for him to subsist in an area which reproached against him. His neighbors constantly advised him to speak up and mingle with everyone and often complained about him not listening to their words. Happiness seemed to ebb in his life which was pronounced on his countenance.

One day he made up his mind to vacate his house and disappear into a secluded place where people are seldom found. Instead of grappling with noisy neighbors, he wanted to disappear into the wilderness which would provide unassailable protection from pandemonium. A white cat materialized in his home out of nowhere as if to befriend him. He looked at the cat which persistently said, 'meow' to grab his attention. Did the cat been sent by God to provide a new lease of life to his lacerated heart? He beseeched the cat to shut up but the latter tested his patience by following him everywhere. He eventually gave up on its tantrums and supplied a liter of milk for the little animal to devour. Pure love seemed to smolder in its glittery eyes which was a reflection of its gratitude for filling its tummy. It licked his feet which was a testament to the abundant love it promised to pour upon him. He picked the cat looked at its delicate eyes and burst into laughter.

"Do you like me?" he asked.

The cat reciprocated by saying, 'meow'

A deep smile hovered over his lips for a while; he strode into the kitchen and the cat followed suit. He ran around the house and the cat innocently followed him. He broke into laughter which evoked tears in his eyes. Virat scrambled over his bed with his eyes still glued to the cat which perched on his chest with its glistening eyes harboring a romantic look. The cat was christened Kitty thanks to its naughty acts. To his astonishment, the cat reciprocated when he offered his hand. He continued to share his hidden secrets with Kitty who refused to take their eyes off him. Eventually, it slipped into slumber.

One day, Virat planned to go outside to savor the sweetness of nature; Kitty clung to his feet as if it was interested to join him in the venture. They embarked on a journey to the mountain with Kitty being safe inside the basket he slung over his shoulders. On the summit of the mountain, they both glanced at the blue sky festooned with grey clouds. Kitty looked dapper with sunglasses and a blue outfit. Virat took a selfie with ensnaring Kitty to rejoice at the moment. They enjoyed delicious meals before returning home.

"Hey, Kitty! What are you doing?" He couldn't believe that Kitty had become an integral part of his lonely life.

It was difficult for him to spend time without Kitty, such was their consecrated bond. Every morning, he started the day after having a glimpse at the cat.

Virat penned a story about Kitty to express his inexorable love for the animal. Every matter in his life paled into insignificance except for Kitty. Everything looked hunky-dory until a point when the situation turned bleak when a tragedy befell the cat. The feeling of impending doom made Virat restlessly look for the cat that was not in his home. One of the street dogs managed to attack and kill Kitty which marked the abrupt end of its beautiful life. The heartbreaking tragedy hit Virat like a thousand bricks on his stomach. His smile converted into tears as his heart became void again without his best friend Kitty. He carried out the funeral of the cat which his neighbors made fun of.

Torrents of pain burst in his mind and heart as he penned an emotional note drenched in tears to bid adieu to his best friend. He evacuated his house and disappeared into a secluded place to resume his past life wreathed in solitude.

My Dear Kitty,

When I believed solitude was my only company

You joined me to fuel my harmony

You are the right note in my symphony

That has the license to expel the cacophony

Your cute eyes beams with eternal innocence

You taught me the essence of patience

You occupied my every space

To disseminate eternal peace

You came into my life when I was in the middle of a chaotic environment. You breathed life into me as if you had been ordered by the almighty himself. I can never forget the beautiful moments we weaved together in this house. You taught me how to smile and live every moment with peace; You taught me the fundamentals of pure love which is enriching and refreshing. For the first time in my life, I am feeling lonely without your company. My heart bereft of joy is persistently beating for you. The aftermath of your death has only filled me with agony. Those cute moments that we shared are etched in my memory like lines in the palm. I am evacuating this place because your cute face will keep on flashing before my eyes which would make me sob every day. The journey continues in the wilderness without you and your refined love. I wish you foil my plan by taking your rebirth right in this house but I know my wish would never materialize. I have to leave this place so that my pain subsides and solitude kicks in to allow me to breathe again. I have to mend my pain-laden heart. Thank you very much for all those beautiful moments which I never thought would materialize in my life. I would store them in my memory like organizations store important data in their storage. Good bye! My Dearest Kitty, I forever miss you!!!
