I belong to the most beautiful country in the world and that is undoubtedly India. From childhood to working professional, I have gone to many places of my country & experienced many beautiful incidences in my life which will always remain in my heart as sweet memories. My country is not only rich in its natural diversity, but the emotional bond which everyone shares with each other in India, that level of love & caring you will never see in any other country in the world. And that's why India is so special. I will tell you few incidences of my own life as a proof my statement.

Honest Citizens

I have spent my entire childhood in Himachal Pradesh, from play school to my first job. The people of Himachal are extremely honest. My father was working as government doctor overthere. Once he was on his way back home & his wallet fell down. A gentleman took the wallet & looked inside to find some hint about the owner. Suddenly he found a visiting card of my father where his details were mentioned. That gentleman returned the wallet to my father. When my father lost that wallet, 10,000 rupees were there in it at that time. As he opened the wallet, those 10,000 rupees were as it is. This is the level of honesty among the people of my country.

Caring for Strangers

As I finished my Engineering, my parents were worried about my job. One day I said to my parents,"After B. Tech, I don't want to go for M.Tech. I will work for Industries & later I will do MBA". When after completing Engineering, I was not getting Industrial job for 2 years, one of the gentlemen from my city, whose name was Arvind Gaitam extended his helping hand & got me into an IT completely where he was working as Engineer. It was a contractual job. I joined that company for 2 years as it was my contract period. As I finished my 1 & Half year in that company, I came to know that the person who got me there, has changed his organization. He has joined some other company, offering higher salary & designation.

I was a bit upset as he was a constant source of inspiration. But as the contract period was over, without wasting a day, that gentleman called me & said, "Piyush I know your contract has expired. Don't worry, I will get you job in my new company where I have recently joined." I was very happy & thanked him a lot.

I never approached that kind gentleman for job but he extended his helping hand as he saw I was unhappy. This is the emotional bond which people of my country share with each other even if they are not members of same family. Even in the absence of mechanical devices, people of India are connected to each other by heart.

Treating Guests as God. Loving our culture by heart

I took a tour package to Manali & went over there with my wife. In the terms & conditions of that package, it was mentioned that it will be a 9 days package & certain selected places were mentioned where the tour guide will take us. But as the tour started, we found that the guide was a very humble person & he even showed us few of those beautiful places which were not in the package. We were very happy by his hospitality. My wife tried to give him extra money also for his help & support but he refused. When I asked him why he is doing so much for us, he said," Sir, Manali & Himachal Pradesh is my hometown. I want that when you return to your city, you must say that the people of Himachal are best in caring for their guests. That will be an honor Sir."

I was surprised to hear that the person was giving us extra help not to gain extra money from us but to listen one sentence from us that," People of Himachal Pradesh are best in their hospitality." This is called loving your culture by heart & this is called a genuine hospitality.

Strong Family Bond

My Grandfather was the eldest among his brothers. They were three brothers. Although I was very small in age but I still remember this incidence. My mother & chachi served the food in rasoi & the youngest brother of my grandfather was served the plate first. But he did not start eating till his two elder brothers came to the kitchen & the food was served to them. This was the emotional bond of love & respect they shared with each other & this strong family bond you will find in every house of India.
