It is difficult to tell what exactly keeps a person from giving up on this ridiculously difficult, yet beautiful journey we call life. Everyone has goals and aspirations that drives them to keep chugging along, but sometimes those aren’t enough. I know I have heaping amounts of internal motivation; however, when I hit a brick wall, I turn and look at a person who has been my motivation to do my best since birth —my mom.

I am 24-years-old and I am not ashamed to say that my mom is my number one fan and my main supporter. She is the one that reminds me that anything is possible. I have continuously watched her go above and beyond for anyone in her life and I inspire to be a woman with such integrity. I don’t thank her enough for all the little things she does for me, and I don’t appreciate her for teaching me that the little things in life are the ones that mean the most.

She taught me to have goals and to strive for those goals. My mom is always trying to help me achieve my goals. Additionally, my mom is very helpful in that she acts as an advisor and will help me figure out what career I want, and where I would like to see myself in five years.

Although my mom can be strict, I love her for teaching me discipline and responsibility. I can always say that I look up to her because she truly is my hero. She has made it through tough times and helped me through tough times. The greatest thing that she taught me that keeps me motivated is to always give your 100 percent and be proud of yourself and what you do. My mom and I live by a philosophy that exemplifies the notion of keeping a positive outlook and surrounding yourself in positive energy. All in all, my mother’s support and her achievements is what keeps me motivated throughout life.
