Losing Wavy

Losing Wavy

The chirping of a little sparrow used to drag me out of my bed every morning. It used to be perched on the branches of the cherry tree just outside my window. I used to feed her every morning and place fresh water for her. That sparrow had a special place in my heart.

I used to call the sparrow Wavy because of its feathers. One day it stopped coming. I was depressed. I had lost hope of seeing her again. After some days I heard that chirping again! I couldn’t believe my friend had returned. The sparrow looked pale. It asked me to come with it. For a moment I was surprised because sparrows don’t talk, do they? Before I could respond, it started flapping its wings and sprinkling blue glitter on me and I turned into a bird. In no time I was flying with my friend. It took me to its house where I saw everyone suffering as if they were about to die. The sparrow was paler now and had fallen on the ground. It was dying and with it, a part of my happiness died forever.

Did you know why it died? Because of Us! The “developments” made by humans like cutting trees and reducing the green area to make more buildings, cellphone towers, and so on are killing the other species. Let us make a pledge to minimize the use of technology and live a happy life along with Nature.
