A Day Without Dad

"Not without a story from papa. I will not sleep," said little me. It was a frosty December night in India and my dad was 7,541 kilometers away from me in Congo B. This was the first time I was asked to sleep without a story from my father!

It was 6 pm in Brazzaville and my father was still in office.

As everything else failed to pacify me, my mom had to drive me to my grandma's house. The next morning she went to the office as usual. I had holidays and stayed at my Grandma's as always until my mom returned from her office till 7-8 PM. All-day I did nothing but stare at the phone, waiting for it to ring, waiting for my fathers' call. Finally, the best moment of the day had come, my dad's phone call. We talked and talked till our throats dried the zillionth time. I got to hear my bedtime story too on the phone and went to sleep with a smile on my face.

A little something for you to know - no matter how many years go by, we will change, but we will always be the same little children who love you with all our hearts, even though we may not able to show it.

Leave one day we cannot stay a second without thinking about being with you.
