It was the New Year Eve of 1610. The King of Xeris had invited all the aristocrats and their families for the Royal Ball. Everyone was having a gala time. The icing to the cake was the ball dance, which could start only on the arrival of the Prince, who was yet to come. So everyone was eagerly waiting for the Prince. The queen ordered the solider to call the prince.

The solider was back in sometime huffing, sad and shocked.

"What happened??", asked the Queen.

"The prince is nowhere to be found your Highness," said the soldier.

The crowd gasped. The King called his minister - James and asked him to start the investigation.

In James opinion, the prime suspects were people who last saw him. And they were- Captain Hook, Snow White, the Little Mermaid, and Cinderella.

Snow White was the first to give her alibi: She had gone to select the clothes for the prince and see if he was ready as ordered by the Queen. Next was the Little Mermaid's, who claimed she was singing a song for the prince on his command. Cinderella claimed that she cleaning Prince's chambers. The last but not the least was Captain Hook, who claimed he had gone to the royal treasury to check if the security was good enough ad he had met the Prince there.

James listened to everyone attentively and took notes and visited the crime scenes. After glancing his notes a couple of times, he exclaimed "The culprit is Captain Hook! He is not the General and is, therefore, not required to ensure there was tight security. Neither had anyone specifically ordered him to check the security. He knew the prince used to go and see the golden rose every day at 7 pm. He went there and waited for him to arrive then kidnapped him. He was planning to use the prince as a bait for the king to demand a considerable ransom."

The facts presented by James were confirmed by the General and Captain hook was thrown in Dungeons and James was handsomely rewarded. After the Prince arrived all the eager and mystified invitees got to taste the icing on the cake of the Ball and everything was back to normal.
