Lights Out!

Lights Out!

It’s funny how memorable days in life start perfectly normal! In my case it was me binging a movie marathon late at night, having a total weekend blast like it was going to matter moments after.

Before I could see Thanos die to Iron Man, happened the power cut that lasted two hours. I cursed it, my luck and the air conditioner in comatose state (not that it was its fault) and cribbed over nothing to do until Newton tossed an apple on my head. I recalled that I hadn’t written my journal for the day and caught this wonderful chance to write about!

So, there I was, with that spooky flickering flashlight, getting bitten by thousands of mosquitos, interrupting the mighty dog howls, writing this! Moreover, some person thought I wasn’t annoyed enough from the mosquitos and decided to bug me with their flashlight and providing me with more luxury (Yup, I like sarcasm). Well, then for once in my life, I went on to “Sherlock mode” and starting investigating (sadly my Doctor Watson went to write his diary and didn’t accompany me on mission impossible). Mt target would go around and around trying to outrun me but I was too fast for him.

Thinking I won, I started celebrating only to know the person with the flashlight was none other than… (drum roll please) …. my brother! Miffed with the scenario, I went in and found out Papa narrating a story about his childhood and I couldn’t resist not listening. I found out how this situation I am in would happen almost twice a day in my parents’ childhood (Wow, they must have had many mosquito friends). And during those engrossing childhood stories of my parents, the lights were back.

And if you think this was the happy ending to this fairy tale, the light went off again!
