God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Once there was a rich man who sailed off in his ship to visit and explore new places. As the sun slipped below the horizon, a monstrous storm started brewing up. The gigantic waves swallowed down the ship with such incredible force that it broke into pieces. The man has washed ashore on an inhabited island.
When he woke up, he found no means of escape or help. He was miserable and gave up all hope. He just sat there in melancholy and waited for help. Nothing happened. The next day he realized that help wouldn’t come by itself. He couldn’t just sit waiting. He had to do something. So then he made a little hut with the help of branches and leaves for shelter and survived by consuming plants and wild fruits. He used to light up a fire and wave his shirt every day to signal, hoping to get some help before he exhausted himself and crashed to sleep.
After many days, a ship was seen by the man, not very far away. He quickly lit a fire, climbed a tree, and vigorously waved his shirt, hoping the ship would notice him. After some time, he witnessed the ship coming his way. He felt joyful and hopeful of getting away from this barren island. The ship reached the island and helped the man get aboard.
That day, he understood the meaning of the English proverb - “GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES”…
