Tekari Raj, a prominent Zamindari of Bihar state started a school in the year 1876. I passed my secondary school examination from Bokaro Ispat Vidyalaya. I was keen to join this prestigious school and approached directly to the Headmaster. I was fortunate enough to get into school. This school has a prestigious book title Gulistan, a rare manuscript of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb written in gold letters. I wanted to see this rare manuscript was not able to see on the first day of school.

Somebody purposely hit me and asked about my caste and village. I saw an interesting classroom divided on caste group. Most of them were old faces in the school, they know each other by their caste identity. Though this was a co-educational school, but students were not allowed to talk or sit with the other group. There were 12 girls and 30 boys. 42 altogether. Girls and boys, they can not interact. The same day, during Chemistry practicals, I broke an apparatus by mistake which was seen by one girl in the class. I folded my hand and requested her not to tell this to others especially Demonstrator and Chemistry teacher as we were not allowed to speak her as per the local culture.
