From The Window
From The Window
I opened my diary and started to write what I had had for breakfast. "I'd want to remember this." I convinced myself,
"For posterity" . I had only managed the ingredients of my sandwich when my sister strolled into the room and asked for the TV remote.
"I don't know where it is", I answered carelessly. She sighed, reached for the window sill and picked up the remote
"Well, you should "she said, walking out the door. I looked up through the window to gaze at the meadow stretching outside. It made such a pretty picture but was impossible to reach . You had to cross two orchards, a wet marsh and then deal with the bloodthirsty mosquitoes waiting for you. Today, there was somebody braving the mosquitoes in the garden, two tall and lean figures were talking amongst themselves, waving their hands about. One was seemingly scolding the other for some mistake.
Then they turned around and disappeared.
