Buddha
Buddha
I had a lesson in my Telugu textbook about Lord Buddha when I was in III or IV. Perhaps that was the first time when I got to know about Buddha. I don’t remember anything about who taught me the lesson or how it was taught but the story had a profound impact on my subconscious mind which eventually shaped my personality to a large extent. Though I do not have it now, I still remember the portrait of Lord Buddha which I drew.
When people question me about the peace and calmness evident on my face, the consistency and positivity in my tone etc., I have no answer to say except to smile and consider it as the blessing of Lord Buddha. Surprisingly the gift I had received when my team from Amity University bid me farewell in 2017 was an idol of Lord Buddha. Never did I share with anyone about my devotion towards Buddha and I was amazed with such a coincidence. Above all my participation in a ten-day course on Vipassana Meditation in 2017 helped me gain some insight into the teachings of Buddha. I eagerly look forward to an opportunity to visit a Buddhist Monastery where I get to hear a lot about Buddha from an enlightened monk.
