Aahana and Her Two Brains
Aahana and Her Two Brains
Aahana was a 10-year-old girl. She was cheerful, kind, and loved her friends a lot. But like every child, sometimes she also got angry and confused.
One day in school, something happened.
During lunch break, Aahana went to sit with her best friend Meera. But Meera ignored her and went to sit with other classmates.
Aahana felt hurt. Very hurt.
Her heart started beating fast. Her eyes filled with tears. She thought,
“Why is she doing this? What did I do wrong?”
Inside her mind, two voices started talking.
The first voice said,
“Go and shout at her! She is wrong. Don’t talk to her again!”
The second voice whispered,
“Wait… don’t react so quickly. Maybe there is a reason.”
Aahana was confused.
Her hands were tight, her face was angry. She really wanted to go and fight.
But something inside her told her to stop.
She took a deep breath.
She sat quietly for a moment.
After school, she slowly walked towards Meera.
With a soft voice, she asked,
“Meera… did I do something wrong? Why are you not talking to me?”
Meera looked surprised. Her eyes became watery.
She said,
“No, Aahana… it’s not you. I was upset because of something at home. I didn’t feel like talking to anyone.”
Aahana felt a wave of relief.
All her anger melted away.
She gently held Meera’s hand and said,
“You could have told me… I was really hurt.”
Meera smiled and said,
“I’m sorry… and thank you for understanding.”
They hugged each other.
That day, Aahana learned something very important.
She understood that inside her, there are two brains—
👉 One that reacts quickly with anger
👉 One that thinks calmly before acting
And her real superpower was choosing the second one.
“That day, Aahana didn’t win a fight… she won over herself.”
