In the resplendent Kingdom of Mahadevalaya, a celestial night sky bathed the land in a soft, lunar glow. The kingdom, divided by a serene river, was ruled by two brothers: King Deva, a paragon of humility, and King Maharshi, his antithesis, who embodied extravagance.

King Deva, was remarkably modest and prudent with his finances, avoiding frivolous expenses. This aspect of his personality greatly endeared him to his wife. In stark contrast, his brother King Maharshi was discourteous and extravagant, spending lavishly on clothing and property to appease his wife. The region under King Maharshi's rule was thriving, with inhabitants enjoying unparalleled prosperity and affluence, earning it the distinction of being the most affluent metropolis.

Conversely, the area ruled by King Deva was peaceful and serene. The residents were unassuming and humble, lacking excessive wealth or opulence. However, their humility and kindness towards one another created a sense of harmony, earning their city the reputation of being well-ordered and disciplined.

Two princesses, Riya and Roshni, grew up in this dichotomous kingdom. Riya, King Deva's daughter, was a compassionate and gentle soul, while Roshni, King Maharshi's daughter, was spoiled and arrogant.

As the princesses matured, their differing values became increasingly apparent. Riya eschewed extravagance, instead advocating for charitable donations to childcare centers. Roshni, conversely, reveled in her wealth, flaunting her riches through ostentatious displays.

Roshni's birthday was approaching, and both her father and uncle Deva arranged to hold a lavish celebration at Maharshi's place. Deva concurred and began to allocate funds for the decorations of the party.

Even Riya's birthday was approaching, and Deva also intended to reserve a sum for the celebration adornments and request the presence of all her friends and relatives on her special day.

The day arrived when the people of Mahadevalaya commemorated Princess Roshni's birthday with great extravagance, featuring entertainment and performances. A towering, multi-tiered cake in Roshni's favorite shade of pink was presented. Roshni was overjoyed by the adornments and the immense cake. Riya also extended her wishes. Roshni took Riya to the garden, which was embellished with precious gems, including luxurious stones like rubies, diamonds, and emeralds. Even the cuisine, provided by renowned hotels, was exceptionally delicious.

After a few days, the day arrived when Riya was ecstatic because it was her birthday. Her father adorned their palace with luxurious ornaments and valuable decorations. Guests were invited to attend the lavish celebration. Deva commemorated Princess Riya's birthday with extravagant entertainment, including performances and festivities. A towering, multi-tiered cake in Riya's cherished violet hue was presented. Roshni extended her wishes and observed the cuisine prepared in the palace, feeling somewhat uneasy. Riya understood her reactions and encouraged Roshni to sample the food. Initially hesitant, Roshni eventually tasted the cuisine and was amazed by its flavor.

Riya took Roshni to the garden to let her savor scented blossoms. Roshni inhaled the fragrance of one bloom and remarked to Riya that these flowers were exceptionally fragrant, unlike her own artificial flowers made of diamonds and emeralds, which lacked scent. Children presented Riya with flowers and welcomed her warmly. Roshni asked Riya why the children didn't give her flowers made of rubies, diamonds, or emeralds instead.

Riya helped Roshni understand that it was the spirit of unity and the bond of affection that the people of King Deva's city exchanged with each other, never differentiating or favoring one another based on financial position. Riya emphasized that although people may be more affluent and successful, they must learn to esteem and show affection for one another, and never overspend on accessories to showcase their wealth.

Through Riya's experiences, Roshni began to grasp the value of humility and kindness, ultimately redirecting her focus toward philanthropy. Riya's wisdom and compassion had a profound impact on Roshni, inspiring her to adopt a more meaningful and charitable lifestyle.
