A Day At The Zoo !

A Day At The Zoo !

Whilst striding my way down the lane, looking forward to explore the zoo, excitement filled my heart ; making me to jump up and down and spread a great gleeful grin on my face.

'Come on mumma and papa! Hurry up! Elena's already approached the gates!' I shouted out to my parents desperately.

Elena is my younger, six year old sister who adores animals (especially penguins) and is as excited as a monkey when it comes to zoos. I've always had a feeling that she may become a zoologist once she's old enough to have a job.

At last, we finally arrived at the gates. My mum handed over the tickets to the person behind the counter. After he observed the tickets thoroughly, he accepted and offered us two rosy red bands for my parents and two lovely lilac bands for my sister and me. As soon as we tied them on the wrist , the man walked towards the gates with a smile on his face, opened the entry space for us.

With a twinkle in eyes, little Elena ran as fast as a cheetah to explore the adventures .

'Stop right there you cheeky little munchkin! Not too fast or you'll get lost!' I said, giggling.

'Oh hehe sorry Emilia, I just love zoos so much!' she apologized.

First, we decided to take a look at the cheeky, chunky, chimpanzees.

 'OOK EEEEK' the chimpanzees screamed.

Elena, I, mama and papa laughed cryingly. Luckily mama brought some deliciously ripe, jolly-yellow bananas to feed the awfully adorable, cheeky chimps. Their face was as brown as a warm, cuddly bear, their hands and feet were like humans and their hair was as soft as a sofa.

After a while of hanging around with the little chimps, Elena was desperate to take a few looks at the playful penguins .

'Wow! Muy bonito!'  Elena remarked, in Spanish, as we reached the penguins.

We saw a couple of small children feeding the penguins raw, unalive fish. One of the penguins waddled around like a cheetah once it saw a great large fish ready to be eaten which made us laugh like a loon.

'Mama, papa! Could I please feed the penguins?' Elena asked with the adorable puppy eyes she always makes whenever she desperately wants something.

'Can I feed them as well please?' I also asked pleadingly.

Papa nodded his head, smiling and pointing to the zookeepers, said, 'Alright girls, but go ask them for permission first,'

Listening to this reply, Elena and I held each other's hands and ran off to the zookeepers with glee. As soon as we got there I asked them to give us consent to feed our famished friends and..they accorded! But we had to stay idle for a few minutes until the other children had finished doing their job.

It was finally our turn! I had been a wee bit disgusted when holding funky fish but I still fed them to the adorable penguins waiting to have something to eat from us.

After feeding the penguins, we started to feel famished ourselves so we decided to go to the lunch area to eat something. Once we got there, we got delighted to see  our most favorite food! Hot, flaming, delicious tamales! They taste as good as heaven!

After we rapidly ate the food we looked at gorgeous giraffes, elegant elephants, tremendous tigers, and many more amazing animals.

At last, it was time to say goodbye to the zoo and hello to our home. What a fantastic day it had been!
