You'll Never See Me Cry
You'll Never See Me Cry
You may see me weaving wreaths of flowers
With threads of whetted thorns,
And find me struggling hour to hour
Afar from all my morns.
You may see me sowing seeds of glee
In vile clouds of the sky,
But still amidst all obscurities
You won't see me cry.
They say that life's a spectral dream
And death the endmost gate,
But though I'm gonna fall and scream
Yet won't give it all to fate.
And even if I secure no sound
And my reveries end in chains,
My noble scars will still be found
And my nerves will find their rain.
And by and by when the blue and ground
Will let my streams dry,
All my kin-kindreds may come around
But their eyes won't see me cry.
