You And Me

You And Me

Huddled in a tent,

Sat a girl,

A blanket over her head,

And tear drops welling her eyes.

Sad and lonely,

Was her world,

Torn apart from her family,

Miles away from home.

But her spirit was not held down,

By the boundaries of the tent,

For it drifted in another world,

Brimming with happiness.

She sat there dreaming of a world,

Where all nations were one,

With no refugees like her,

Where life is endless fun.

No war,

No divisions,

No grief,

That was her vision.

A peaceful colourful world,

Was all that she could see,

With no homeless refugees,

Each one happy like you and me.
