India of my dreams

India, my motherland,

A prodigious country,

A tricoloured tapestry,

Woven with threads of varied regions and religions,

Bonded by a unified spirit.

My India,

Has risen, like a phoenix,

From the ashes left behind by the British,

To great height, it has soared,

But there are miles still left to go.

The yin and yang,

Man and woman,

The essence of existence,

I dream of an India,

Where we strive for their equality,

Give education, respect and dignity,

To the precious girl child,

To every aunt, sister and niece,

For our progress, they are the most crucial piece.

In this vibrant country,

In almost every lane,

A hungry poor man begs for a crumb of bread,

While right across a rich man,

Laughs merrily with all his wealth,

I dream of an India,

Where there are no poor or rich,

Each soul as important as the other,

Where we all live as one,

Every man a friend, a brother.

With each passing day,

Lush green trees are cut away,

My India is fast becoming a concrete jungle,

Lungs choking on toxic air,

Why are we not stopping to care?

I dream of an India,

With forests as far as I can see,

Not a poisonous land,

But a picture of lush greenery.

This is my dream of India,

And this dream can come true,

If we work hard,

Come together me and you.

So let us come forward and make a change,

Make our country,

A better place,

Make India a land where dreams come true,

With land is green, and sky clear blue,

Where everyone leads a happy life,

In my magnificent India!!!
