World Above Us

World Above Us

1 min

Sleeping on my back,

Staring the bare sky

A meteor shattering into pieces,

Wondering why so high

Starting so beautiful,

Pointing my finger up

I use to jump with joy,

But the realisation,

That a start comes with an end,

Mature me stares up

With running tears to cry.

Waiting for it to go dark,

To see those twinkling beauties,

Growing busy, the fading sparkle,

A long sigh, realising going back to duties.

Sneaking off schedule, taking a coffee,

On a chair, watching the sun fall,

Younger me would laugh at the funny faces

He pictures in the clouds standing tall.

These people out there abuse, they cuss,

These skies are my distraction,

Place where I escape, "world above us"
