Women’s Equality

Why should we be equal,

When we are made differently?

May not be intellectually

Or spiritually,

But physically yes

And to some extent emotionally.

So, while it would be great

To be equal in status,

I would prefer

Rather to be united;

United with one and other

By accepting and acknowledging

Our differences.

Instead of celebrating

Women’s day,

Why, O why

Can we not have

A Unity Day,

Of women and men

Coming together

In a collaborative way!

A realization has to dawn

That we are but sparks

Of the same Consciousness

Yet different and unique,

Each of us complementing

The other to progress

For a higher cause
