Veer Gatha

In the tapestry of time, threads are woven,

Bravery and might, are persistently proven

Every victory that we are yet to achieve,

Will be a tribute, another string to weave

The Amar Jyoti, of this prodigious valour,

Is a golden truism, that mrityu is not a failure

The Sone Ki Chiriya, we have always been,

Our flag raised high, orange, white & green!

This Veer Gatha, for the martyrs of the land,

Who fought towards Swaraj, hand in hand

For the soldiers of the nation, standing tall,

Undeterred they ascend, not afraid to fall

While we doze in beds, enjoying sweet silence,

We are unaware of, any tragedy or violence

The only reason that we sleep safe & sound,

Are the warriors of Bharat, standing their ground

Their Lakshya is to protect, even in the face of danger,

To angst and distress, their heart is no stranger

But to overcome that fear, and attain victory,

As valiant as tigers, they have created history.

Inspired by the spirit of every legend gone by,

From the Queen of Jhansi, our Rani Lakshmi Bai

Shielded her city, and had Gwalior under the decree,

She sacrificed her own life, to defend her country

From Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru we learn,

Dying for the people is the highest respect to earn

In our fond memories, they won't ever cease to exist,

In the Veerta ki katha, their names shall never desist

A salute to all who fought, the horrific Kargil War, 

To Captain Vikram Batra, who led his comrades

The Param Veer who assured, that he would return,

After hoisting the Tiranga, or either wrapped in one

Of the eminent Ashoka Chakra, the youngest awardee,

Neerja Bhanot has brought us immeasurable glory

As a civilian, a flight purser, with immense courage,

Heroically saved countless passengers from terrorists

To all our gallant patriots, we pay a tremendous tribute,

Those who against all odds, are ready to contribute

The Sandesh that they all left, will eternally persevere,

Etched in the halls of history, never to ever disappear
