Unspoken
Unspoken
When all seemed to wither away,
And the light seemed to be fading, to my dismay,
When tears seemed to freeze inside of me
Long gone were the days I pranced around in glee,
When all that was left was not going right,
The monsters in my head causing chaos at night,
I felt your presence next to me and thought it was absurd,
But your silence spoke a thousand words.
When I saw the last leaf turn brown and fall,
The weight of my thoughts holding me back against the wall,
When the last strand of hope I was holding on to so desperately,
Was slipping through my fingers, cutting through and bleeding wildly,
When the glue that held a smile to m
y face,
Seemed to be giving away at a faster pace,
I felt your hands on mine and I thought it was absurd,
But your silence spoke a thousand words.
When the line between life and a nightmare was turning into a haze,
In the quiet of the darkness, I’m stuck in an endless maze,
When the fire raging inside of me, threatens to consume me whole,
I find the blazing light in my soul, the color of amber coal,
When amidst the stinging burn, I stood and watched the smoke clear in flashes,
Like a golden phoenix, my will seemed to be rising from the ashes,
I felt you touch my heart and thought it was absurd,
And even then, your silence spoke a thousand words.
