Under Worry's Reign
Under Worry's Reign
A snowy, moonlit night that has
Led many to compose soulful songs
Celebrating their sacred love
May sometimes fail to lend you
An ounce of quietude
That your wearied mind longs for.
The million waves in the sea
That once had propelled an old man
To fish beyond his eighty-fourth day
With bountiful hope
May sometimes fail to transcend
You away from the entangled thought
That eats into your turbulent self.
A colourful rainbow after a summer rain
That hooks an artist to drink its beauty
To portray that later, on his scaled canvas
May sometimes fail to evoke
An appreciation from you;
For, there’s a storm brewing inside.
A flock of flamingos flying fast
Flaunting their flamboyant freedom
At a higher plane that excites an onlooker
To live life with more vigour
May sometimes fail to inspire you;
For, your mind is flooded with
A flock of frustrating thoughts.
Mother Nature that has panacea for many,
Therefore, may sometimes fail
To lend you solace, long cherished,
For, your mind’s empire is under worry’s reign.
