TRUE ESSENCE OF INDEPENDENCE~

The golden day of 15 August 1947

 Is the day when India truly emerged as heaven!

Independence Day is a red-lettered day in Indian history

Which marks the day of our emphatic victory.

May the nation’s service have been out of peace or doom

It enlightens our life and ends the gloom!

India was engulfed by British colonialism

It got smoothened by the citizens’ schism

Struck with poverty and slavery, India was in a trap

It got even harder eventually to fill this depriving gap!

Always aimed to let India disenchant

Plunder and exploitation were what they could grant!

Our notable culture was disregarded, we were suppressed by their policy

Our flag was said to be worthless; our holy books were mediocre compared to Odyssey!

In the gradual process of independence

To protect our country’s jeopardized eminence

Freedom fighters had crucial roles

Let’s honour the martyred souls.

In those days, I wasn’t born to experience the heavy rains being followed by a rainbow

But how great it was! the elegance it still endows.

It was the resolution for paramountcy,

Emanated the essence of self-dependency

Let’s learn from our past

And respect every religion and caste

We must abide by living in equality and union

It should be considered to be our axiom

If the true prestige of independence isn’t left obscured

Serenity, love, endurance with success will be procured

Let’s put our hands together and preserve

All the prominent aspects our country deserves!
