Today's Woman

India, the nation big, more or less developed,

But the thoughts are still with darkness, enveloped.

Here when a daughter is born,

It pinches society deep like a thorn.

Females in most parts, are shot by words rough,

And handled in a manner very tough.

She is killed with dirty looks and hatefulness,

No one remembers her effort, her great -fullness.

Her sex is not her own choice,

Oh man! on her birth why don't you rejoice?

She is the result of your chromosome,

Paving bridges even in a broken home.

Imagine this world without this sex fair,

You think, generations without her would appear!

Globally views about feminism have changed,

Respected, empowered, no longer outraged.

Women are rising high like air,

Like tall mountains, moving backwards, no further.

A decision maker in every walk of life,

With fullest potential, no longer only a mother or a wife.

Bestowed with wisdom and patience immense,

She is quite competent to strike a balance.

Playing roles diverse, meeting her commitments,

No longer plays a second fiddle for fulfillments.

Attitudinal change, change in medieval outlook and thoughts rural,

Bring her up with trust and freedom, her definition will cure - all.

Protect her from harassment and exploitation,

In today's society, let her not face discrimination.

For rapes, abuses, intellectual and physical abuse,

Who is responsible, without her what is there to produce?

Don't bury her, don't abort the female fetus,

The world without a female will face a problem grievous.

Today's women if secured, protected,respected, can work wonders,

The world, the universe, don't forget they are the founders.
