Things I Think About

One afternoon I looked out the window and saw the sun go down, 

With my distant gaze and my calming thought.

I thought about who it will be, the things that people talk about, the things that you wonder about.

How do you think someone else reasons, and who will be.

Silly questions about what you can't know, what you don't want to know, and shouldn't know.

There is one thing that I have not learned, one thing that I long for.

The one that will be to wake up one morning, and see someone by your side, a smile that accompanies the sun in the morning.

Perhaps affection for breakfast, feeding the soul and the heart.

A hand to hold and the human warmth that it has to grant you.

But that happens at dawn and my life succumbs at dusk.

The cold wind from the window, and the waning moon over the bed.

Time has passed, history has already been written.

I am part of a group, an aggrieved group.

Whose past is doomed, and the future has agonized.

 But the worst is the present, a present without feeling.

Gray in color, today I saw my breath misting the window.

I closed my eyes and heard my heartbeat.

Back then I saw if something could happen.

I thought of the myths of people, of that feeling they call love.

The passion with which two souls come together.

In the chemistry of the heart.

In the intertwined smiles and the looks of passion.

In the voices that prophesize words of love.

In hugs and affection.

In the troubles and reconciliation.

On occasions of joy.

On cold afternoons with the company.

All those myths, and many more.

They are the ones I think about.
