The Wisdom Oration
The Wisdom Oration

A big, barren field lying all gloomy,
Asked to the passing-by wind:
"O wise wind! Tell me why'm I not happy;
If you know the reason, please give a hint
The past lore was cheery without any mishap,
But now time has definitely set a trap.
"Till yesterday I held proudly a fair,
Men, folk, lads roaming: all very cheer,
But now I'm barren and none spare a stare,
Outrun by my state I add to my luck a sneer.
Tell me, what is it?
If not my misfortune, then what is it?"
The
wind by his wisdom gave an advice:
"My dear friend, don't blame your luck.
Fortune is continuously playing its dice,
It shows both good and bad luck.
You were prosperous until yesterday,
Don't worry; time'll show your day.
"If each day were a Sunday, it would lose its worth,
Perform your duties and prosper your birth.
Good and bad times are life's slides,
Just like the faces on a coin's two sides.
Remember, life's full of ups and downs,
And the the darkest hour is just before dawn."
