The Wait!

The topmost layer of frosting,

Keeps me lamenting –

I cannot eat or taste

Unless my guests eat with haste!

They won’t stop talking

Until the cake starts walking.

The spongy texture of the cake,

Surprises me about how much injustice I can take!

When my uncle goes towards the gate,

I see an opportunity – ah, not so late!

Seeing my actions, my parents give a frown –

Signaling me to put my hands down!
