The Void
The Void
Lonely days, lonely nights.
The world to me is now just a noise.
Why did you go away?
Why did you cease?
The last day, I saw you on the beach.
The humongous ocean roared and splashed,
Your grief was maybe beyond that.
At least you could have told me,
But you didn't.
Your troubles had eaten you from within.
Why didn't you cry?
Why didn't you shriek?
The ocean swept you away indifferently.
And maybe you wanted that.
I know this isn't courageous.
You were greedy,
Greedy enough to loot me of my joys.
The ocean is mighty, what does it care?
I am left with nothing.
Despair has taken over my being.
You preferred to ride away silently,
Maybe Death was too bitter for you.
The ocean swept you away indifferently.
What does it care?
But, I know you wanted just that.
