The Stray Dogs Mania
The Stray Dogs Mania
Midday peak hour
By lane near a school
The children moved with
Sordid burdens of bags
While beside a wall
Mating of dogs in action
Younger ones whispered
To moms, “Why do dog
Stretch opposite like
Running a rope race? “
Elder rouges winked
And giggled absurdly
Burst out in laughter
Animal lovers glad
To witness growth in progress
However, worried parents
The onlookers and the seniors
Frowned, grieved about
The obscenity, the cruelty
Of hurting innocents
Dirt on the pavements
Spreading deadly diseases
They all demanded
The killing of the strays
Which cause the deaths
Of thousands of people
Every year throughout
It’s a great pity
That after passing of
A bill allowing the killing of strays
By a Municipal Corporation
Was ironically turned
Down by the honorable
Apex Court.
