The Mask

Mother earth held her hands on her ears,

She said, " I can no more hold the shears,

Look at the dust blown by it

It's choking my throat."

The cough made her eyes numb.

I quickly handed over a mask to her

And said, " this will keep you away from the venom,"

And moved by her tears, asked her to wipe them.

She said," you have given me protection from outside,

But what about the wounds and smut that are housed deep into my heart,

Will this mask cover them too and keep me free from the whort ?"
