The Holi Catastrophe

The Holi Catastrophe

#RangBarse

Today, while playing Holi,

I injured my left knee.

Someone threw a water balloon,

And it came and hit me.

Holi, oh the amazing festival,

Everybody is overjoyed and delighted.

Everybody- poor or rich, young or old,

Fat or slim and short or tall heighted.

Every soul in India,

Is enjoying the beautiful decorations.

But, still they are very busy,

In all the Holi’s preparations.

While, I am wrapped up in bandages,

And sobbing secretly in my room.

Watching everybody playing outside,

From the window in my room.

The children are covered with colors,

They are wet with water balloons.

“He, he, he!” they are laughing,

While, I am eating Kheer with a spoon.

My mom comes in and assures me,

But I just cry louder.

“I want to play Holi,” I say,

“Please, give me a water gun and powder.”

Mom smirks and pats my back,

But I just squint down.

She whispers something in my ear,

But I just start to frown.

She sighs and gives me a Gujia,

I smile and eat it gladly.

And it tastes excellent,

I look out again, sadly.

Mom brings me my board game,

Wait..Oh, It's Monopoly, my favorite!

The Festival of colors, I think about it.

 The colors and Gulal,

And water balloons and guns.

Everything is pretty useless.

Even the jokes and puns.

The thing that matters is that,

Every family is happy and great.

Because really, Holi is the triumph of good over evil!
