The Fight

From the warmth of the womb she came.

Under the shelter of the loving family.

Unaware of the cruel world,

She grew up beautiful and sweet.

Time came to spread her wings and fly.

But oh! the world was prepared to stop her.

They were ready to cut her wings off,

They were ready to crash her under their feet.

She struggled, Yes she suffered.

She stumbled and fell.

Some helped while some hindered.

Some applauded and some criticized.

But she rose and fought for her rights.

For her choices, for her decisions.

For her body, for her soul.

Yes, she fought for life and she survived.
