The English Kingdom

From a borrowed language,

To becoming the official one.

English had elevated its reign,

Ruling as a monarch in our brain!

The white-men we defeated after wars,

The dominants of our tarnished country.

Aren’t we taking ahead their legacy proudly,

Without even questioning it to be lousy?

Our mums and pops who owe geniuses like us,

Had such a firm trust on those English mediums.

In-spite they themselves couldn’t teach us the lingo,

Yet strived making us the grammar gringo!

Ohh but wait, isn’t English our new style-statement?

Or may be the one intensifying our stratum?

Cuz, listening to Ed Sheeran and Rihanna,

Had become our over modernized nirvana!

The Bollywood trend of Kapoors & Khans,

Has got too outdated with their musty Hindi movies.

But isn’t watching Leonardo and Robert Downey,

Just similar to overlooking samosa over a brownie!

So, now we realize even the Hannah Montana translations,

Were all an intentional mockery.

For even Cartoon Network and Disney knew,

The way Indians have bid Hindi its adieu!

And then we’ve made this English-speaking chap a dude,

Granting our mother-tongue only to the fools.

Look how the overpowered English kingdom has enslaved us all,

Ruining our linguistic senses by inciting a numb crawl!
