"The Digital Dawn" Poem by Julio Herrera
"The Digital Dawn" Poem by Julio Herrera

In the stillness of night, a new light was born,
A spark in the dark, heralding the dawn.
Pixels and bytes in a shimmering dance,
Unveiling a future of endless expanse.
The hum of machines, a new heart's refrain,
Whispers of change in a binary plane.
From villages quiet to cities that gleam,
Digital dreams weave into our seam.
Connections unbroken by distance or time,
Echoes of voices in rhythm and rhyme.
Lovers now meet on invisible strands,
Friendships are forged in faraway lands.
Libraries shrink to a screen in our hands,
Wisdom and folly at our commands.
From scrolls to screens, the ages align,
Knowledge once scattered, now caught in a line.
Commerce and trade, with a digital flare,
Markets once local now fly through the air.
<p>Currencies born of circuits and code,
The world's vast economies in shared digital load.
Art takes new forms in virtual skies,
Reality blends with augmented eyes.
Stories once told by fire's bright glow,
Now stream in the ether, in endless flow.
Yet shadows do creep in this radiant age,
Privacy lost in a public stage.
Data is mined, and secrets laid bare,
In this brave new world, we must tread with care.
The digital dawn, both blessing and bane,
A tool for the wise, a peril for the vain.
It changes us all, this tide of the new,
Transforming the many, as it passes through.
So let us embrace, with mindful delight,
This gift of the age, this luminous light.
For in every byte, a story unfolds,
Of humanity's future, in bits and in codes.
