Summer Vacation

Summer Vacation

The last day of school is such a drag,

It carries on and on for ages.

Each minute seems like a year,

We feel trapped like birds in cages.

The day slowly inches on,

I’m bored out of my skull,

The teachers are constantly droning,

And everything is dull.

I count down the minutes,

The bell is about to ring,

Everyone is full of joy and excitement,

I feel like I’m about to sing.

I traipse home happily,

Looking forward to relaxation,

This is why I truly love

My summer vacation.
