Stand Still
Stand Still
What is the use of power, money and fame?
When you don't even have the courage
To stand still in the face of your rage,
Your inner demon, your resentment, your fear, and your own made cage
What are you doing, sole mate on your darkest stage?
Crying, broken down, prepared to gage
On your end; the destruction of your youth and the yet to come — the old age.
Stand still, mate, forget the wage Even for once, disengage.
For once, see the rich Autumn, the golden trees that lay yon just still,
For once, even Aphrodite would be jealous and it will rise to instil,
For once, just for once, endorse the vista, 'til you fulfil
Your yearned contentment, and again gain the strength to stand still.
For once, you may fail, for once you may miss a chance, you may want to fill
Your thoughts with the wanting desire to kill
Yourself, maybe? In the wandering guilt, is it fun or perhaps full of thrill?
Is it sad, to watch someone close to you die?
Tears swell up from your eyes continuously, don't lie
See, the mistakes you made, ally?
Why can't you just comply?
Yourself! To stand still, Why?
Do it, do it before it becomes too late to try.
