STORYMIRROR

Sorry Australia

Sorry Australia

We scorching our heart

With words, we appear.

Ever since the glimmer of the Sun.

We taught in schools,

Lived in cities

And became just another one.

Then as we grew

We left our shoes

And straddled onto newer shores,

Let go of fear,

Walked the talk

But all alike out there in scores.

But they?

None taught them enough to say

"I Love You" or

A "Save me too".

All they had,

Was their own place.

And we scoundrels,

We burnt that too.

No, I know I didn't,

You know, not even you.

But deep down again

We are many of just a few.

There are many of us,

Who keeps the life score ticking

And some who render more to the cause.

But somewhere when you blow a puff

You're just hiding behind your flaws.

Extinct? Maybe not today.

Maybe not tomorrow even.

The glaciers a

re still there

But the scars do deepen.

We warm the planet,

They bear the brunt.

And someday in future

It will face us upfront.

They can't speak when their mothers are gone.

No poets tell of them, do they?

Neither do they drink like you

To wipe the tears, should they?

If that's the case,

Then what's left in you?

A human but no soul inside.

You scrape for happiness

In a selfish trait

With no room left for compassion beside.

Miles apart we stand.

No hope, no joy

Just fear in hand.

The koala shall be orphan now

But there's a Joey willing to share.

His mom has taught him,

'We are all but one'.

He ain't no human who divides to spare.

And one day, when they shall stay

You shall be extinct by then.

For what use is the body you bear

Of global warming and sinful traits

Left, with no soul in them.
