Slumbered Feelings
Slumbered Feelings
Strangers we were,
When we first met.
Dwelling together for a stretch,
We had no gab.
I was oblivious
That his red-wine eyes,
Had a gaze on me.
He had something concealed,
Deep beneath his heart
That stayed mum for years.
He couldn’t grip it,
For his innocent feelings
Deep down slumbered;
Dispersed like a wild fire
Burdened over fleeting years.
The day ultimately aroused,
When I harkened the tale.
How could an extrovert
Fall for an introvert?
Days fleeted like flurry,
His alluring presence
Made my heart pounce.
We were strangers,
Yet our hearts stringed.
Strangers we were,
When we first met.
Dwelling together for a stretch,
We had no gab.
Never we conversed,
Yet there were conversations;
Held by the heart
Like a slender strand of silk.
T’was a time to bid adieu,
Yet our feelings slumbered
After a hearty gab;
For we both knew
It wasn’t the right time.
Today after years,
We pine each other.
Yet our untold feelings,
Lay deep beneath slumbered.
