The river of Souls

Forever, the infinite river of souls is flowing.

Flowing into the ocean of eternal bliss.

Not me, I just stand still, entangled

In the chains of pleasures and pains,

The rights and wrongs and everything that is!

The swirling whirlpools of fear, hate, sorrows, and pain,

Keep on luring me into the darkest abyss.

No, I too want to flow, feel the bliss, I wish to be free

God, isn’t there a way to salvation, still left for me?

‘Brahma satyam jagat mithya, jivo brahmaiva naparah,*

So, wake up in ‘Self Realization’!

The inner voice answered me.

Ah! the joy, I am now completely dissolved,

Free from rebirths, pure and primordial, ‘I’ cease to be.

Now, I am flowing with the infinite river of souls

Which is flowing, flowing into the ocean of eternal bliss!

*Brahman (The all-pervading transcendental form of energy) is the only truth, the world is unreal, and there is ultimately no difference between Brahman and the individual self.) Understanding this truth is self-realization!
