anxious to eat delicious food

so all look happy and good

Among all festivals,

The festival of ‘Rakshya Bandhan’

 is the most powerful and lovable

as it falls on a fullmoon day

celebrated with a feeling of faith

 in heart and serenity in mind

reminding the brother-sister bonding

 as its special kind

It is such an auspicious day

On which sisters express their

feelings of love and affection

by tieing a silken tissue

 thread as band

around brother’s hand

recollecting the special bonding

of ‘Krishna’ and ‘Draupadi’

showing a feeling of gratitude

and wishing for them

 radiance of happiness, peace

 prosperity and streams of joy

through their life

They put tilak on their

 forehead as a tradition

and got blessed

Brother in turn

take a vow of protection

of their sisters

as justification

As a mark of respect

to this sacred bonding

of ‘Rakshya Bandhan’

brother-sisters as siblings

love this bonding

as their need

by abiding nobility in the heart

and character in deed

and keep it as a treasure

forever and ever
