Oh Shiva, My Eternal Sanctuary
Oh Shiva, My Eternal Sanctuary
Oh Mahadeva, the keeper of time,
The sound of Aum, the hymn divine.
With trembling hands, I light the flame,
Carving my love within your name.
Each dawn I wake, my soul bows low,
To feel the grace in winds that blow.
The sacred Ganges, soft yet strong,
Sings your glory all day long.
Oh Neelkanth, the blue-throated one,
Bearer of poison, yet brighter than the sun.
In your stillness, I find my peace,
In your fury, my fears release.
I do not seek a kingdom grand,
Nor jewels bright, nor golden land.
All I wish, all I plead,
Is to hold your name in thought and deed.
Like Parvati, in love so true,
I surrender all my heart to you.
Not in longing, not in claim,
But as a prayer, a whispered flame.
Oh Shankara, my soul’s embrace,
In every moment, I seek your face.
Not in temples carved with stone,
But in my heart, where you alone are known.
Take my tears, my joys, my days,
Turn them into songs of praise.
Let me dissolve like river to sea,
Oh Shiva, make me one with thee.
