My Plight
My Plight
The world is dark outside.
I feel the pain in my heart.
I know not where lies the solace,
To balm my aching heart.
Oh! For such suffering around;
I long for a streak of happiness.
Whither I rest my troubled soul,
And seek the world’s loveliness.
O, God! I entreat you, I implore you,
To come and save me.
Let all troubles vanish in the air,
Take me in your embrace and save thee.
