My Plastic Day

My Plastic Day

On January 8, for Swachh Bharat, we went to segregate plastic

I hope what we did would make a change which would be drastic.

I cleaned a ground in front of a multiplex with my friends

We tried to clean the area from its start to end.

We wore our gloves and a mask too if we got

They were spic and span when we started,

But by the end they were filled with dirty spots.

We found many plastic tea cups, toffee wrappers and also a dead cat

And not to forget the paan masala wrappers and a smelly rat.

We had to fill the plastic garbage in a big sack

But the area and garbage was so much that all couldn’t be tracked.

Sometimes everything felt to be wet and have so much dirt

That we girls were lucky to not wear a skirt.

But it was all a lot of fun and the number of pics did we click

I am sure to get their printout and in my scrapbook stick.

It was surely a beautiful and memorable day

I hope its memory never fades away.

Because we all had done a very good deed

And that is what our Mother Earth does need.
