Mirror
Mirror
I am flabbergasted
To see my inability
To counter the wrong.
I fear of protesting the false
And I am a coward,
Fighting half-heartedly
With my soul,
Retreating at the time
Of answering,
Keeping my lip tight
Restricting the usher of truth,
Painting on the canvas of life
The colour of the vanity
And falsehood.
Yes, I hoodwink my soul,
I hoodwink myself
And smiles of mine become
Lugubrious on the face of the mirror.
