Love At Funeral

It was a dark rainy day,

Clouds had taken the sky in their grip,

When all around was only haze,

And a few hearts in grief!

There at the churchyard,

Down the lane,

Another soul was about to rest in peace,

Leaving the world, who wouldn’t look back again!

The last services were being given,

To the body which laid in the coffin,

When even the universe cried, it seemed,

In those alleys of Boston!

No one could stop their shedding tears,

As a jolly soul had left them today,

Who kept rejoicing his each moment,

Without ever being dismay!

Yet, a lady stood there for the funeral,

With glittering eyes and delight,

To whom this death had become,

Some blessing in disguise!

The man being buried had enslaved her,

For more than a 30 year,

Since the day her dad was cremated at the same graveyard,

He took her by force without letting drop a single tear!

He although claimed to the world,

For she being her lady-love,

Whom he had always mistreated,

Making her feel unworthy of!

Plenty of them cried with sorrow,

Making the lady’s cheers invisible,

Who thanked Jesus for letting her free,

From the trap of that love at funeral!
