Leaving Behind Footsteps
Leaving Behind Footsteps
Foot-marks deep;
Embedded in the golden sands while the foaming waves leap;
Unable to be erased;
For they are much too profound to be defaced.
Little steps following;
Sometimes swept away, sometimes intact, remaining;
Brine waters of obstacles curling around lower limbs;
Swiftly swerve off the sea's volatile whims.
Should you stumble forth, lurch;
He shan't carry you, but encourage at the shore's verge;
An expression tender;
Striking disposition of earnest splendor.
Two shadows at late dusk;
Against the coastline, silhouettes are stark and brusque;
One tiny, one tall;
The crimson sun behind them, precepts enthrall.
Will your small prints fit?
Or are your forerunner's traces too large? But do not quit;
Thrive amidst the combination of letters;
Shrug off the discourteous fetters.
